Liquid Ingredient Weights
Cup, spoon, gram and ounce conversions for 26 ingredients — water, milk, oils, honey and syrups.
Liquid Ingredient Weights holds 294 pages covering 26 ingredients — water, milk, oils, honey and syrups. Each page uses the measured density of one specific ingredient, which is the only way a cup can be turned into a gram.
A cup is a volume and a gram is a mass, so the conversion between them depends entirely on what is in the cup: a cup of all-purpose flour is about 125 g while a cup of honey is about 340 g. A single generic cups-to-grams tool has to pick one density and be wrong about everything else, which is why there is a page per ingredient here instead.
Each page states its grams-per-cup figure openly, along with the measuring method it assumes, because a packed cup and a levelled cup are not the same measurement. The reverse conversion, the spoon measures and the pound and ounce equivalents are all derived from that one stated density, so the numbers on a page agree with each other.
The collection cross-links to the general volume and weight converters, which is where to go if your ingredient is not listed here.
