This measures backwards: how long has it been since a given date. It is the natural tool for tracking streaks, anniversaries of events, service intervals, or how long a task has been sitting untouched.
The elapsed count is inclusive of the start date in the sense that the day after an event is day one. Alongside the raw days you get the calendar breakdown, because "412 days" and "one year, one month and sixteen days" suit different conversations.
The working-day figure is worth watching for anything work-related. A task last touched 30 calendar days ago has only been ignored for about 21 working days, which is a fairer measure of neglect.
The formula

How to read your score
Frequently asked questions
Is the start date counted?
The day after the event is day one, so an event yesterday shows as one day since. The event date itself is day zero.
Why does the calendar breakdown not match days divided by 365?
Because leap years and unequal month lengths make that division an approximation. The breakdown walks the real calendar, so it is exact.
Can I use it for future dates?
It will tell you the date is still ahead and how far. For a proper countdown use the days until a date page, which is built for that direction.
How is the next anniversary found?
By adding whole years to the original date until it lands after today, clamping any 29 February to 28 February in common years.
